FitGems to have Social Media Correspondent at Arnold Sports Festival 2013!

The Arnold Sports Festival is this week, and we are happy and privileged to announce that for the first time in FitGems Nation history, we will have our own social media correspondent at the Arnold Sports Festival!

Her name is Jennifer Bahney. She is a future figure competitor who trains at Powell Fitness, which happens to be near Columbus, the home city of the Arnold. She runs a hair care web site called Long Hair Lovers, (www.longhairlovers.com) and posts quite a bit about her business on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/Longhairlovers) and Twitter(http://twitter.com/longhairlovers). She is also dealing with hypothyroidism in her quest to compete one day. Definitely an inspiration.

Jennifer will be attending the Arnold on Friday for the women's prejudging events (Ms. International, Fitness International, Figure International). She will be tweet via her personal Twitter account (@JenniferBahney) during those events and possibly the expo afterwards. She will also be providing some updates via our fan page (https://www.facebook.com/fitgemsnation) For those that have followed FitGems since the beginning, this is a big step for us to even do something like this. In time, we hope to evolve and provide more exclusive footage from events such as the Arnold.

Please follow along with Jennifer, and for all things Arnold, use the hashtag #asf2013. This is the official hashtag for the Arnold that will be used by everyone throughout the week.

Jennifer, we look forward to what you will bring to the FitGems Nation this weekend and beyond. To all the spectators and competitors heading to Columbus in a matter of days, have fun!

Brittany Beede: Fitness's Next Breakout Diva

Fitness industry...meet Brittany Beede!
A couple of weeks ago, Jamie Keyes was eliminated from WWE's show NXT. This week, she was given her pink slip from the entire company altogether. Needless to say, this struck a nerve with quite a few people, including yours truly. So what's a girl to do after seeing her dreams of becoming a WWE Diva crumble before her eyes? Simply...pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and go forward. Jamie is doing more than just going forward, folks. She's aiming to create a fitness empire!

Fresh off her WWE venture, she's hopping right into the fitness world full-steam with a campaign unlike anything I've seen from one individual. She's launched a Youtube channel, a Google profile page, and an official Facebook fan page, not to mentioning changing her Twitter name to better suit her current and future fans, and that's just within a mere few hours! Imagine how things are going to be for here when everything starts to take off! THIS is what is going to set her apart from many in the fitness industry. She's aiming to become someone in the industry, not just a name or a face in the crowd. It's pretty clear she doesn't need the WWE to succeed (Trust me, they need her a hell of a lot more than she needs them), but I wouldn't rule out a possible return somewhere down the line. But for now, look for Brittany to make an huge and lasting impact on the fitness industry. There's a possible chance that you might see her at the 2011 Arnold "hint..hint". Just like when FitGems Nation supported Brittany during her days as a WWE Diva, we will continue to support Brittany during her journey to becoming fitness's next breakout diva. Good luck, Brittany!! :)

Here are the links to follow Brittany on her quest to becoming the next fitness icon:

FitGems Nation Facebook Fan Page...I GAVE IN!!! LOL

Yep, you read that correctly. I've finally broke down and gave in to the fan page movement. I've seen what a fan page has done to many of my friends and readers on here, so I was like, what the heck? I'll give it a try and see what happens.

Everything I do on the FitGems Nation blog and website will be updated on the fan page. That includes any updates from the HDPhysiques blog, as well as the Save Fitness Now blog. Of course, like the site itself, it's interactive, so feel free to begin discussions, post pictures, videos, etc. My fan page is your fan page. Me casa es su casa.

To join the fan page, go to http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/FitGems-Nation/172803974346?ref=ts.
